David vs Goliath

David vs Goliath

We all have heard the story haven’t we? David and Goliath!  The famous story of how a shepherd boy took on a giant and won.  The story of the underdog winning against all odds.  This story has inspired countless people to face their fears.

Now I do not want to take one ounce away from this story, I would love to see people face their fears; this post is for me as much as for anyone. However, before David defeated Goliath, David had the courage to face a Lion and a Bear on separate occasions.  Before David was brave in battle, David was brave while tending sheep.  Now many of us want to be known as mighty conquerors; but will we put that same faith and bravery in the small jobs?  Before David could protect his fellow citizens, David was protecting his Fathers flock.

Will you be brave in the little things that will prepare you for the big things? How many of us would go out of way to save one sheep from a Lion or a Bear?  How many of us will put our trust in God to train us up for the big job (facing Goliath) while doing the little job that no one wants (tending to sheep?)  How many of us will even acknowledge that we believe in God and need God to show us the way?

Yeah, we all want to be known as giant killers, but will we listen to the inner voice that tries to guide us day in and out to get ready for battle? David said no to the armor and advice of the “Brave” warriors who would not face Goliath.  David relied on the skill and knowledge that God gave him while tending sheep.  Will you be loyal in the small things so you can be ready to face the big things when the times comes?

Will you be ready to face your Goliath? Do not rush it.  Spend your time being brave while tending to the sheep!

Your idea is only as good as the energy behind it.

Your idea is only as good as the energy behind it.

I can say this one hundred different ways or I can just go to the source.  To quote the Bible: “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”  James 2:17 King James Version

Now let me give you an example.  This is 60 Seconds of Motivational Mojo.  There is an abandon Office Building with 3 Offices.  A guy hits the lottery and decides to open a Business Incubator.  He calls together all of his family and friends and tells them, I just bought a building with three offices, I want to build three business.  The man let people group together.  In one room there a bunch of people who cannot agree on anything.  These are the “Can’t Do People.”  In another room a bunch of people get together and say “Yes let’s do this!” I will call them the “Can Do People.”  In the third room, there are just a few people who busy writing ideas on a blackboard.  We will call them “The Force of Nature” People,

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.  James 2:17 New International Version

After the first day the guy who hit the lottery reviews the business plans of the three teams.  The first team, the “Can’t Do People” said, we have a few ideas but we can’t agree on them.  “Can you give us a couple of days to pick the best one?” they ask.  “Sure” the Lottery guy says.  The “Can Do People” have a couple of great ideas.  “We will present tomorrow” they say.  “Nice” the Lottery winner replies.  “The Force of Nature” team has one simple idea they present and say they are ready to start.  “Great” the Lottery winner tells them, “Start tomorrow!”   The Force of Nature Team simple replies, “We are ready to start now!”  The “Can’t Do” people say, they will never get it done.  The “Can Do” people roll their eyes and claim they are just showing off.

So you see, it isn’t enough just to have faith. You must also do good to prove that you have it. Faith that doesn’t show itself by good works is no faith at all—it is dead and useless.  James 2:17 Living Bible

You will find the most of the people you know are “Can’t Do” people.  The next biggest group will be “Can Do” people who don’t do much more than talk about what they want to do.  Then a very small group of people you know are “Forces of Nature.”  They go after what they love like there is no tomorrow.  They do what they say are going to do.  They get things done, learn from it and make things better the next time around.  These are the people you want to be around.

Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.  James 2:17 New American Standard Bible

After a week the “Can’t Do” people still have not figured out what they want to do.  The “Can Do” people say yes to everything but still haven’t got anything done.  The “Forces of Nature” while there are only a few of them are already turning a profit and ready to launch a second project.  The Lottery winner is patient and says “Hey everyone, great work. The Forces of Nature caught a few breaks, but we are all family and friends.  Let’s stay at it!”

Week after week, the Forces of Nature make simple plans and stick to them.  They go after what they say they are going to go after and they do not wait around.  They learn as the go and they go as they learn.  The “Can Do” People are fun to be around, but again, nothing is driving them.  The Can’t Do people still can’t agree on anything, but they all claim to be working hard, they just can’t catch a break.  Soon, the “Can’t Do” people are just along for the ride.

The same is true with faith. Without actions, faith is useless. By itself, it’s as good as dead.  James 2:17 The Voice

After a year the Forces of Nature are bringing in the bulk of the profits.  The Can Do people struggle to break even.  The Can’t Do people, half of them have quit and moved on.  The other-half are starting to turn the “Can Do” people into “Can’t Do” People.  More and more new people are flocking to the Business Incubator to find jobs.  “The Forces of Nature” are becoming so successful they need two offices.  Some of the “Can Do” join with the “The Forces of Nature” and find the success they have always been looking for, because they actually go after their ideas with passion and diligence.  The “Can’t Do” Team has merged with the other half of the “Can Do” Team, but even the few times they agree, they don’t get anything done.

Your idea is only as good as the energy behind it.

“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”  James 2:17 King James Version

Be a force of nature.  I used to be the most negative person you would ever meet a “Can’t Do” person.  Then a friend of mine challenged me point blank to stop being so negative.  Slowly I became a “Can Do” person.  I tell people to get around people who are getting things done, check the facts and do not compromise their principals.  Some people still think I am being negative, but I am trying to warn them that scammers are out there and find out the truth.  Now I am convinced that being a “Force of Nature” is what it is all about.  Keep it simple and chase your dreams with all you have in you.  The success and the energy will attract others.  Don’t wait around for people, invite them to join you and then be off and running.

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.  James 2:17 New International Version – Your idea is only as good as the energy behind it.

What kind of faith do you have Joseph Luellen III

faith_300x200This post may not be easy to read the 1st time, or the 2nd time. I would hope that you read it again and again and understand my intent. I seek to educate and mean no disrespect to anyone. I am not questioning your faith, I am questioning my own. If I say, “What kind of faith do you have?” I may as well be saying “What kind of faith do you have, Joseph Luellen III?” So don’t take any of this personally, take it as a challenge to learn about your faith and grow it from there. That is what I am doing. I am trying to be real in confronting the level of faith that I possess.

Faith:

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/faith

  1. Confidence or trust in a person or thing:
  2. Belief that is not based on proof:
  3. Belief in God or in the doctrines or teachings of religion:

So the dictionary defines faith as Confidence or trust in a person or thing. I have heard people say things like “Trust but Verify.” I say Verify before you Trust. Now how can you have Trust and Confidence without Proof? Have I come to a paradox? No, I say watch people and things from a distance and ask yourself if this person or thing will come through when you need them to come through for you. Reputation and Respect are not bought and sold, they are earned. So my trust or my faith in things or in people also has to be earned.

As for my belief in God or the teaching of religion; I feel we need to study the teachings and then trust our inner voice, trust our gut feeling. Most of us know the difference between right and wrong. Now if we choose to do wrong because we think it is fun, or because we lust after power, or because someone has twisted the teaching of religion; are we really listening to our inner voice? Do we really trust what God is telling us, or are we putting our faith in ourselves or some other person over God?

Faith:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faith

Faith is confidence or trust in a person or thing or a belief not based on proof. It may also refer to a particular system of religious belief

Are you superstitious? Do you believe in Good Luck and Bad Luck? Do you believe in Mojo? Do you believe you can be cursed, or that you need a talisman or do you believe in Juju? How about Chi Energy or the Force? Do you believe in Karma and Nirvana? Really, where do you place your faith? If you only believe in knowledge and proof, then you are putting you trust in what you know. But let me ask you a question. How do you really know that you know anything? Let me take you to a faraway country where you may not know the language. Would you be able to survive? To learn the language in this distant land you would have to trust what people are teaching and trust what you are learning, but can you really trust what people tell you at face value?

Again, Joseph Luellen III, where do you place your faith? See this post is as much a question for me as it is for anyone else. Me, I trust what I can see for myself and for the rest I trust my inner voice. I trust the things I seem to dream about over and over. I trust what God is trying to tell me and God is telling me to keep searching for truth. What God is telling me may not be what God is telling you, you have to search for yourself.

Faith:

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%2011&version=KJV

Hebrews 11:1

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Sooner or later, the question of Faith and Religion will intertwine. My personal believe is that I can believe what the Christian Bible tells me and I will not have to stomp all over someone else’s faith to find my purpose. I believe that I do not need to shatter someone else’s dreams to chase mine. I do not have to tell others anything other than to look inward and listen to their inner voice and stand back and watch others before trusting people. I tell people the only advice that I follow, do your homework for yourself.

Now for me, Biblical Faith is not something I take lightly. Ask yourself, do you have the faith that was written about in the Bible. Could you be like Daniel in the Lion’s Den? Could you be like Daniels friends and be thrown in a fiery furnace because you refused to bow down before a king? I ask myself these things a lot; “Joseph Luellen III how great is your faith?”

Do you have the same faith as Elijah when he was challenged by the Prophets of Baal and the Prophets of the groves? Would you stand up for what you believe if you were outnumbered 850 to 1? Do I have that kind of faith?

Do I have the kind of faith that could raise the dead, or walk on water, or heal the sick or recover sight to the blind? If I did, would I not be spreading the good news on a daily basis? So what happens to us, what happens to me? How do I lose sight of how much good God can do through me if I allow it to happen? Isn’t the first step, professing the good news regardless of the fear and lies spread by others? Or should I wait for proof? Should I wait for proof that I can do great things before I have faith that I can do great things? Maybe I should do little things before I expect great things.

David faced Goliath, but he had faith because he faced a bear and a lion first. So I wonder to myself; Joseph Luellen if you were the keeper of the flock; would you run from the sight of the bear and the lion or would you have faith to protect the sheep? Then I ask, how can I conquer my Goliath if I am afraid to face the bear or the lion? Where is my faith? So I ask you, when people question your faith, do you go along or do you stand on faith before there is proof? Do you listen closely to what God is trying to tell you? Only David stood up to Goliath; I ask myself, “Joseph Luellen III do you have that much faith?

Do I have the faith to move mountains? Do I have the faith as a mustard seed? Do I at least have enough faith to spread good news? I am trying to be real in confronting the level of faith that I possess. Do I say that I am the healed or do I say that I am the sick? Do I say that I am broken or do I say that I am fixed? Do I say that I am poor or do I say that I am prosperous? Do I speak lies or the truth? Do I live in darkness or in light? What kind of faith do I really possess? Right now I am challenging myself.

This post may not be easy to read the 1st time, or the 2nd time.

The Importance of Hope:

The Importance of Hope:

Have you heard it all before? Do you agree? Without hope all is lost. I am starting to believe this more and more. As I look back over my life, I think the one thing that has kept me going through all the ups and downs is hope. Hope coupled with faith means all things are possible. Action coupled with Hope and Faith increases the odds of the impossible actually happening. So at the end of the day, every day, every lesson seems to be to continue to have hope no matter what is going on around you. Everyday reminds me of the importance of hope.

So sometimes I wonder if I am the worst team builder of all time. Almost everything I have started came to an end. Almost every team I have ever built has folded. And yet here I am, still believing that I can reach my dreams if I can just become a better leader. I still have hope. Each lesson in life has taught me to maintain hope for a better tomorrow. That and maybe I could have done better in my team building if I was a better leader. So I take another chance, present another idea, share another vision and try yet again to build a team to bring the vision closer to reality.

So what have I done well, and what have I done wrong? I think I have always tried to make sure everyone had a voice, that everyone’s opinion mattered. I think maybe I was always rooting for the underdog and the outsider and the loner because I could relate to them. And what could I have done better? Maybe I could have used a more gentle touch, maybe I was a little too brute force and a little too arrogant in my approach. Maybe my biggest mistake is thinking that people will actually stand up for themselves. Sometimes I have believed that when people say they want to do something, it meant they would actually follow through.

So I live and I learn and I still have faith and hope. I have seen many people follow the lie they want to hear over the truth that they do not want to hear. I have seen people time and time again say they want to do something and then do absolutely nothing to follow-up on it. So here I am believing that if you can just find the right group of people who are searching for the truth and will stand up for what they believe in that you can be successful.   I want to be a part of that success. I still have hope that I can be a part of that success.

Does my faith get tested? Absolutely it does. Which seems to get me even more convinced that good things are right around the corner. I ask myself one bottom line question. Why learn to stand up for what is right and do things the right way if there is no pay off? Why don’t we just devolve into a state of anarchy and chaos? I think it is because no matter how bad things may seem, there is good out there that is stronger and holding this entire world we live in together. I believe there is a greater good that keeps us from coming apart at the seams. Maybe that greater good is hope, maybe that greater good is faith in the truth.

So all of my failures have taught me to get up and try again. And all of the times I have won, no matter how fleeting they may seem, keep me believing. So if I can believe, you can also. All it takes is hope. I believe there is a truth that is good and pure; it only takes faith. My life has taught me that we all need to have hope in something. We all need something to believe in. I believe in hope against all hope.

It all sounds so good in my head. It all seems so clear in my mind’s eye. I only hope it comes through clearly for you. I have hope for you even if you don’t have hope for yourself.

Everything we think we know is based on faith.

Welcome to 60 Seconds of Motivational Mojo. Welcome to another blog where I try to convince you to examine how you think and how you reach conclusions. Everything we think we know is based on faith. Everything you think you know is based on faith. Everything that I know is based on faith. The fact that you are reading this means you can read or translate English. So for me to even communicate this to you is based on my and your faith in the English language.

So let’s begin again. I had to learn English, how to speak it, read it and write it. English is the foundation of my learning. I have to put faith in my ability to comprehend in English to be able to continue to learn and possibly learn another language. English is the foundation for my learning. I have to take this on faith that anything I try to communicate is taken with the proper intentions.

So let’s talk about faith, and truth and reality. All of us are seeking something. Some of us, I hope are seeking more knowledge of the truth and reality. Know before we can argue if the truth is realitive or absolute; and if there is one reality or alternate realities we must have a common basis or language to communicate. If we are using the same language we place our faith in that language. If we are using different languages, we are putting our faith in those languages and their translations.

So we put our trust, we place our faith in the language that we speak and our ability to absorb and communicate knowledge. It does not matter if you believe in God, or Logic or Luck or any combination of the three; where you believe and what you believe is where you put your faith! Everything we think we know is based on faith. Everything that I think that I know is based on faith. Everything you think you know is based on faith.

I believe by faith that the truth is absolute. I believe by faith that there is one reality. I believe by faith there is a heaven and a hell. Everything I think I know is based on faith. I put my faith in English, and I put my faith in God and I put my faith in my ability to continue to learn and grow based on these things. Everything we think we know is based on faith!

We can argue this for hours and hours and days and days, but the foundation of our communication will still be based on our faith in our languages, and our ability to translate those languages. Everything that I type and post here can be dragged into a translator and translated into any number of languages in a matter of minutes. I have used this at work to translate Spanish and French to and from English on many occasions. It takes my faith in those languages and the common messages to get my work done. So I can work with people regardless of local customs and national beliefs, based on my faith in the information systems that are in place to make our lives easier. My ability to grow in my professional and personal life is based on faith. Everything I learn and everything I try to communicate, takes faith.

Wasn’t that easy to understand? Even if you don’t believe like I believe, we have a common faith in the Internet, English and any language that this can be translated into as the foundation of this post being read. Regardless if we agree, each of us has faith in something. Each of us believes in something. Everything we think we know is based on faith!

Pull Together or Teat Apart:

Pull Together or Teat Apart:

Doesn’t it seem like everyone is pushing and pulling each other in different directions? Family, Job, Friends, Faith; there never seems to be enough time to make it all fit. Even if you just limit the conversation to work; how many times have you seen people who work together, people who are supposed to have common goals working against each other? How many times have you heard the term, push back? Everyone seems to be pushing and pulling, but who is trying to work together?

Does it seem like your job takes you way from your family; or your friends take you away from your faith? Or is it some other combination of things that should be working together but seem in reality to be at odds? All of this running around in circles takes a lot of energy just to get back to where you started. Everyone pulling you in different directions takes a lot of energy just to hold yourself together. Would things be better if people agreed to work together, to pull together than to be pushing back and forward against each other?

Pull together or tear apart: Which one is it? This is why common ground and common direction is so important. If I am in New York, and I wish to head to London then it would not be wise to board a plane bound for California. Pushing back and forward means that people sometimes have to go way out of their way to get where they are going. Pulling together means that people are working together and heading in the same direction: Doesn’t that sound like the way it should be?

So I ask you again, home many times have you heard the term push-back? Does it make you wonder that people know they are over working each other? Doesn’t it seem like people know how much work fits into a week and when they are over loading their manpower? Would a Leader realize this? Wouldn’t a Leader sense this? Then why is all the pushing and pulling that is going on considered good management. Pull together or tear apart. If you searched for these terms you found this post, did you search for push back, or pull together or tear apart? Either way, I blog about what I think about. I let my mind examine my thoughts. I let my mind wander and hope my fingers can type fast enough to keep up.

I have heard the term “Push Back” so many times, I can only wonder why people don’t pull together. I have blogged about the fact that Teamwork does not always work, and that a “Team Player” is no longer something people look forward to hearing. All this pushing and pulling and how many people look forward to going to work? Are people moving forward? Are people spending lots of energy to just hold it together? Why not work together? Why not pull together? Given the choice between Pull Together and Tear Apart, I choose Pull Together.

How do you know you are on the right path?

What does it take?  How do you know you are on the right path?

I guess it takes faith.

I guess it takes patience.

I guess it takes understanding.

I guess it takes love.

I guess it takes truth.

So I am seeking truth.  I am seeking not only knowledge but wisdom.  I am learning how to love on a less conditional level.  I am not well enough equipped to love unconditionally, but I can be happy for people as long as their pleasure is not the cause of my pain.  I try not to be the cause of others pain.

I am trying to be a better listener and I am trying to understand where others are coming from.  I am trying to look at things from more angles and more perspectives.  Some things I still do not understand though.  If you say you love someone, would you and should you not do everything you can for them?  It takes patience so it seems.

I am not the best with patience.  I am trying though.  I am trying to believe in something bigger than myself.  I am trying to believe in something bigger than you and me.  I believe in the power of us.  I believe that everyone working together can get a lot more done than everyone working separately.  So let us work together.  I think that is what God wants us to do anyway.

So the right path is the best path for everyone.  The right path is that path that makes things better for everyone.  The right path harms none.  The right path is grounded in patience, understanding, love and truth.  So it takes truth, it takes love, it takes understanding and it takes patience and faith.

I guess that is what it takes.

I am the kind of person who:

I am the kind of person who leaves a penny at the counter in the little dish.  You can be that kind of person also.  All you have to do is leave a penny.

I am the kind of person who puts my spare change in the charity jars.  Maybe a dollar here and a dollar there won’t make much of a difference, but it doesn’t hurt to try.  One day I hope to do more, but in the mean time I will do what I can.

I am the kind of person who likes to volunteer one day a month to help feed the homeless.  I also like to volunteer at food banks and soup kitchens.  My wife and I also like to organize and host charity fundraisers and try to get people to come together and work as a team.  Why not, even if we can only make things a little better we are still making things better than they were before we got there.  You can be that kind of person also.

I am the kind of person who likes to leave a good tip when ever we go out to eat.  Why not be the person that appreciates other people who are working hard for the money they make?  Why not be the person that people like to see coming?  Why not be that regular customer that people want to wait on?

I am the kind of person who believes in something bigger than myself.  I have faith, I believe in trying to be a part of something that will live on after I am gone.  You can be that person also; it just takes faith and hope that you can make a difference.  You can be that person also.

Leave a penny.  Donate your spare change.  Volunteer once a month.  Be a good tipper.  Have Faith.  Believe in something bigger than yourself.  Be that kind of person.  I am that kind of person.

F.A.C.E. adversity:

Welcome to 60 Seconds of Motivational Mojo.  I try to observe and learn from my life experiences, from the books I have read, the movies I have watched and the things I have heard others say.  So today, I add a new acronym to the list.  How to F.A.C.E. adversity:  Faith, Action, Commitment and Endurance.  F.A.C.E. adversity:

Adversity: an unfortunate event or incident

If you try to do anything substantial in life you will face adversity.  Even if you do not do anything you can still face adversity.  The difference is those who try to do something substantial will have to face adversity and rise above it, those who choose to do nothing will do nothing.  They will just take what ever life gives them.  I challenge you to rise above adversity; F.A.C.E. adversity with Faith, Action, Commitment and Endurance.

Faith: Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.

Action: The state or process of acting or doing

Commitment:  The state of being bound emotionally or intellectually to a course of action

Endurance:  The act, quality, or power of withstanding hardship or stress

Do I need to say anything else?  Sometimes these things are just that plain and simple.  I will continue if that is what you need.  If you are convinced, than be convinced; if you are convinced that I am crazy, I would love to hear why.  I will continue to explain my position.

Adversity:  A state of hardship or affliction; misfortune.  See how misfortune is part of the definition of adversity.  Bad luck is part of life.  Now if you just want to complain about your luck or the hand that life has dealt you, than I can not help you.  But if you want to try to make a difference in your own life and the life of others around you; keep listening.  The first step to F.A.C.E. adversity is Faith.  You must have a confident belief in something that will change your circumstances.  Notice, truth and value and trustworthiness are parts of the definition of faith.  Don’t fall for lies and scams.  Do your homework, check the facts; but please, for God’s sake have faith in something bigger than yourself.

F.A.C.E. adversity: Add Action to your Faith.  Action – The state or process of acting or doing.  Do something!  Can I make it any simpler?  If your answer to adversity is to sit around and complain; then I can not help you, yet again.  You must act on your faith, or how much faith do you really have?

F.A.C.E. adversity:  Commitment – The state of being bound emotionally or intellectually to a course of action.  If you have and you are acting on your faith, you have to be bound to this course of action.  Again, have you done your homework?  Do you know the truth?  Do you value what you are doing?  Do others value what you are doing?  Life is going to throw hardship and affliction at you, because that is just the way of the world.  Are you ready to deal with the fact that no matter what you do, no matter how many good things you do, no matter how many good times you create; there will be bad times, bad luck and hard times?  Are you bound emotionally and intellectually to your course of action?  Have you thought this through, and are you tough enough to deal with the roadblocks that people will put in your way?  Commit to your faith and commit to your actions: F.A.C.E. adversity!

Endurance:  The act, quality, or power of withstanding hardship or stress.  This one should be a give me.  This one should be very easy to understand if you have been paying attention.  F.A.C.E. adversity equals withstanding hardship or stress.  If you have faith, you have put your faith into action and you have committed to that action on an emotional and intellectual level, then you should be able to endure what ever life throws at you.  Endurance is power, endurance is a quality, know this and you will be able to F.A.C.E. adversity!

F.A.C.E. adversity:  Have confident belief in the truth and value the state or process of acting or doing. Become bound emotionally or intellectually to a course of action and have the power to withstand hardship or stress!  F.A.C.E. adversity with Faith, Action, Commitment and Endurance:

Escaping the Abyss:

Escaping the Abyss:

Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.  Friedrich Nietzsche

Go with me on this one.  Allow your imagination to stretch on this one. Imagine for a minute there are two towns: One is a virtual paradise and the other a place called wayside.  Wayside is a place where if you work hard enough for long enough you can make a nice living for yourself.  Now the towns are separated by a deep valley, so deep if you look down in it, you see nothing but shadows.  The towns are on either side of a mountain pass, and if you look over head there is a bridge.  It is said that monsters live in the valley, and monsters protect the bride into paradise.

Many people have tried to enter into paradise, but precious few have made it.  Some have tried to cross through the valley only to be lost in the darkness.  The entrance to the bridge is hidden deep in the mountains.  Few if any ever find the entrance to the bridge.

Now the people who are born in paradise love their home and actually feed and employ the monsters from the abyss to keep people out.  If you have entered into paradise, then you can come back freely.  99 Percent of the people born in paradise never leave it.  99 Percent of the people born outside of paradise in wayside have given up hope of ever reaching paradise.  99 Percent of the people in the abyss have given up hope of ever leaving the abyss.  Because the monsters of the abyss are actually fed and paid by the people of paradise to keep people out.  Once you are in the abyss, if the monsters see you trying to leave, or trying to enter the bridge, they will stop you and pull you back.  You have to know the way into paradise, and you have to avoid the monsters to stand a chance.  Once you are on the bridge you are safe, if you don’t fall off.

Now there is a rumor of a man who worked his way into paradise, and set up a bungee cord on the bridge.  It is said that he has lost a few loved ones in the abyss.  As rumor has it, he is recruiting a team of people to bungee jump into the abyss, locate their loved ones and pull them out.  Now getting caught is a risky proposition, so this is kept very quite.  The monsters in the abyss will try to trap you there in the darkness and you will quickly lose hope of ever leaving.  It is said if you spend too much time in darkness, the light actually burns your eyes, and causes some people so much pain, they would rather stay in the darkness. Hence it is very important to get in and out of the abyss as quickly and quietly as possible.  And if someone is lost in the abyss, it is very important to find the person before they become trapped by the darkness and afraid to return to the light.

Again, this is only a rumor, but rumor has it that if someone bungee jumps into the abyss, it takes at least two people to pull the person out, three if they attempt to bring someone with them.  Also rumor has it, that if the person in the abyss is afraid to leave, or is being held back by the monsters in the abyss, it can take up to seven people to pull the two people out.  If everything does not go well, the person on the bungee cord can be lost to the abyss also.  Again, this is all a rumor, but rumor has it the person who set up this rescue operation was lost in the abyss, and found their way out.

So, for this to work; it is very important that you can find the entrance to the bridge.  You also must have a team ready to pull you out of the abyss.  You also have to get in and out of the abyss as fast as possible.  And the person in the abyss you are trying to rescue must actually want to leave the abyss quickly and quietly.  Remember, people who have been in the darkness too long are actually afraid of the light because it burns their eyes.

The people of wayside can see paradise, and can see the bridge, but they are so afraid of the monsters and the abyss that many of them have given up hope of ever entering paradise.  It is said that every so often people from paradise will come to wayside, but they rarely if ever show anyone the way to get into paradise; they want paradise for themselves.  Again, it is a rumor that there is a precious few people who have escaped the abyss, made it into paradise and are willing to show people how to get to paradise, and also how to get their loved ones out of the abyss.  The problem is fear.  People in the abyss are afraid of leaving the abyss.  People in wayside are afraid of falling in the abyss.  And the people of paradise are afraid of losing paradise.  Remember the people of Paradise will feed and pay the monsters to keep people out.

Now what if I told you, I knew the way into to paradise, and I knew how to escape the abyss, would you be able to overcome your fear?  If I told you for everyone we want to pull out of the abyss we need one person to enter the abyss and seven people to pull them out, would you help pull them out?  Would you enter the abyss to save someone you love?  And what if I told you, if you enter the abyss, there is a chance you might not come back.  Would you still enter the abyss?  What if I told you every trip to the bridge and every trip into the abyss you run the risk encountering and fighting monsters?  Would you still search for and enter the bridge?  Now remember all of this is only a rumor.  Would you believe the rumor?

So what is the moral of all of this?  To cross the bridge from Wayside to Paradise, or to escape the Abyss, you must have Faith, Love and Work as a Team.  You can not be afraid of the light, for the light is truth.  You have to know how to get to the bridge, and the way to the bridge is the truth.  So if you know the truth, have faith and will work as a team you may be able to save the ones you love.  But the ones that you love can not be afraid of being saved; otherwise you both run the risk of being trapped in the abyss.

Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.  I am not afraid to battle monsters, or to gaze into the abyss.  I have been there and gotten out.  I can not prove this works, unless people are ready to work together.  I am convinced together we can not only build a bridge to paradise, but also rescue people from the abyss.  I just can’t do it alone.

Now, have I stretched your mind enough for one day?  Are you ready to escape the abyss?  Would you like to cross the bridge into paradise?  You must know the truth.  You can not be afraid to see the light.  You can not be afraid to battle monsters.  You must be willing to work as a team.  You must be willing to sacrifice for the ones you love.  That is the only way I know to escape the abyss.
