Not Just Another Monday

Hello, today is Monday.  Though you may read this on a Tuesday or a Wednesday.

Today is Monday, but it is not just another Monday.  This Monday is today and today I make up my mind to do something special, no matter what the world throws at me.  Now you can do the same thing today, if you are reading this on a Monday, but if you are reading this on a Tuesady or Wednesday, you can still make up your mind to do something speical today!

The only thing you have to do to do something speical today is be the best you that only you can be.  Even if it is Thursday or Friday.  Seems like everyone want to save the best version of themself for Friday or Saturday or Sunday, but why not be the best you can be on a Monday also.

Today is Monday.  Make it a Super Happy Fun Day.  Make every Monday – Super Happy Funday and the rest of the week is easy.  Don’t make this just another Monday.  Do something great today!

Today is not just another Monday.  Make it something special!  Be the best you that you can be today!

Getting started is half the battle!

Welcome to 60 Seconds of Motivational Mojo.  I am here to motivate you, so I blog my thoughts.  In my years of blogging I have found I really motivate myself.  I guess that is part of the point.  I say learn by doing, and if I am not doing then I am not learning.

Have you heard the phrase “Knowing is half the battle?”  Well I believe that getting started is the other half of the battle!  If you know you only need to start.  If you start then you only need to learn.  Too many of us use the excuse, “I didn’t know!”  So I say “learn and do” or “do and learn!”  It really doesn’t matter which one you choose to use, just get started!

Just do it!  Nope, I am not getting a dime from G.I. Joe or Nike.  I am offering this advice for free.  You know what they say about free advice and free lunches.  Ok I am drifting off the point.  What is my point?  I have seen and heard too many people play the pity game, and I have seen and heard to many people who are truly crippled by fear.  Getting started is half the battle.  Every dream I had that did not come true was because I never really got started.  Every lesson I learned has been a result of the effort I put into the lesson.

So take it on faith if you must, do any amount of research.  Read the books, do the math.  Open up your favorite search engine.  Take a poll of successful people and then take one of people who are complaining.  You will find life is full of 4 kinds of people: People who don’t know and don’t try, people who know and don’t try, people who try and don’t know and people who are successful at what they do.  People who are successful keep trying until they figure it out.  To try you have to start.

Successful people will tell you a couple of things.  You have to start somewhere.  You should learn as you go and keep learning.  You should take advice from other successful people.  You should not sell out your principles.  You have to define your success; don’t let others do it for you.  No one can do it for you anyway.

Getting started is half the battle!

We are all just people, but are we all J.U.S.T. people?

Name someone rich or famous or ultra successful.  The one thing they all have in common is they are all just people.  We are all mere mortals.  No one of us are Gods.  None of us are Immortal.  Title does not matter, even if you are a King or a Queen or a Prince or a President or a Prime Minister, we are all just people.  If our title is Lord or Sir or Doctor or Lawyer, no matter what job or position we hold we are just people.  But are we all J.U.S.T. People.  J.U.S.T. meaning we seek Justice, Understanding, Status and Talent.  In this case everyone is not J.U.S.T.; no sadly some people are Hypocrites.  Some people only want the rules to apply to others.  We are all just people, but are we all J.U.S.T. people?

J.U.S.T. starts with Justice.  Is it Justice for one and all, or are some people above the law?  Do some people think the rules do not apply to them?  We are all just people, we are all mere mortals.  If the rules apply to one, they should apply to all; but sadly Hypocrites feel the rules only apply when the rules are to their advantage.  Any other times the rules do not apply in a Hypocrites’ world.  Don’t be that person.  We all want a fair deal, so that means we should never want someone else to not get a fair chance.

J.U.S.T. includes Understanding.  J.U.S.T. people seek Understanding.  Hypocrites are much more into pity parties and sob stories, again when it works in their favor.  To seek understanding, you have to seek and speak the truth and keep things simple.  To seek understanding you would not muddy the waters to make them appear deep.  There is a famous quote hidden in there, did you catch it?  There is a proverb that states, “In all you’re getting, get understanding.”  There is another famous quote that says, “Seek first to understand.”  We all know the famous quote, “Walk a Mile in another’s shoes.”  If you want to be understood, try to understand others.  If you want to be understood, speak the truth and keep it simple.

J.U.S.T. includes Status.  It is a fact of life.  Our status will go a long way into determining where we end up in life.  Royal Titles are handed out at birth, but they are few and far between.  For the rest of us, we have to gain our status by building our reputation.  Hypocrites build their reputation on lies; that is a house of cards.  When the lies are discovered the hypocrite’s reputation will crumble.  Build your reputation on the truth.  That is a solid foundation that will weather any storm.

J.U.S.T. also includes Talent.  Even a hypocrite wants to be surrounded by talent, though they will take credit for other people’s work.  A J.U.S.T. person also wants to be surrounded by talent so they can use their talents to their fullest, and also help other use their talents to the fullest.  Talent takes Time, Technique and Technology.  Given the proper application of your time, you can increase your talent.  If you are surrounded with talent you will also improve your technique.  Also, in business, having the latest technology can make things faster and easier; but technology can not replace talent.  Give credit where credit is due.  Don’t be a hypocrite and take credit for other’s work.

Remember, no matter how high you rise, we are all just people.  No matter how bright someone else’s star shines, we are all just people.  But in all you efforts to make the most of your life, be a J.U.S.T Person and not a Hypocrite.  Sooner or later, the hypocrite is exposed and all they have will crumble.  Status acquired with Justice, Understanding and Talent, will weather any storm.

Everything you need is already inside of you.

Everything you need is already inside of you.

Just find a quite place and pray.

Ask God how you can best help others.

And then listen.  Once you have listened, get up and act.

It is that simple.

Just keep living.

My mom used to tell me this whenever we would talk about life in general.  Just keep living.  Why not, it sounds like a good idea.  When ever you can’t figure things out, when ever you stop and think about how life is not fair; just keep living.

It is simple advice.  When you think you have seen it all; just keep living.  When you think you know it all; just keep living.  When you feel like you have nothing left to lose, or nothing left to give; just keep living.  It is the most simple and straight forward advice I know.

I am happy to be alive, because it gives me another chance to chase my dreams.  I am happy to be alive, because it gives me another day to learn something new.  I am happy to be alive because I choose to be happy.  I choose to just keep living.  No matter what life throws at me, I figure; another day is a good day.  Just keep living.

Yes everyday you grow older, let’s hope you grow wiser.  Just keep living.  Hold on to your dreams and chase them a little bit every day.  Just keep living.  Giving up is easy, but why not try again tomorrow?  Just keep living.  Hold you head up high if you did your best.

Just keep living.  It really is the most simple and most honest advice you can give someone.  Speak life instead of death.  Just keep living.  Spread hope instead of hate.  Just keep living.  Help others instead of holding them down.  Just keep living.

I have given up trying to figure people out.  When I think I have seen it all, I have not seen anything yet.  Just keep living.  I try to give universal advice to everyone.  Some will take it, and some will not.  Just keep living.  When things don’t seem to make sense, you might be right around the corner from a break through.  Just keep living.

Just give up.

OK, today I give you a free pass.  Just give up.  Are you going through hard times?  Do you need a break?  Just give up.  I only have one question; what good will that do?

You say you need a break.  I get it.  You say you work hard and you aren’t getting anywhere.  I get it.  Just give up.  See today is reverse psychology day here at 60 Seconds of Motivational Mojo.  Today I will say it is OK to just give up.  Again, I ask you what you stand to gain by giving up?  Do you really think you will live your dream because you give up?  Do you think you will hit the lottery?  Maybe you will, but really; what are your odds?  If you give up, you can’t complain about how your life turns out.

Just give up.  Do you really believe you will get anything other than the crumbs when you give up?  Just give up and be happy.  It is easier, why sweat it out and try to actually make a name for yourself?  See I am giving you the OK to give up, but I am not giving up.  I am still trying to make a name for myself.  Listen, if you are really quiet when you give up; maybe no one will even notice.  If you can live with yourself knowing that you have given up on your dreams, I can live with it also.

Now for those of you who have continued to read this, I will be back in a couple of days with another post.  I am not giving up.  I am just trying it from the other side today.  I used to sit around thinking everything was a scam.  I use to be mad at the world.  I try to be as positive as I can, but sometimes I run out of steam.  The people closest to me see me at my worst moments.  Those are the people I am sorry too, and those are the people who I answer too.  But hey, I understand; chasing your dreams is a hard thing to do.  So just give up.  Today is the day you have been waiting for me to say it.

See the funny thing about your dream is it is your dream.  Not everyone will agree with you, and no one can do it for you.  Yes, people who agree with you might help you; some might not.  Some people who agree with you may be jealous of you, or may be protecting their own dream.  Some people who agree with you, might just help you; but since they are hard to find, you might as well just give up.  See, if you are lucky; maybe 1 out of 100 people you run across might help you chase your dreams.  Those odds are pretty bad aren’t they?  It’s OK today to just give up.  It won’t be OK tomorrow.

I don’t know if you were told it will be easy, I never said that did I?  No I said it will be worth it.  Now sometimes people make things complicated when they are not.  The steps are simple, but they may not be easy.  You may have to swallow your pride or face your fears; again not easy, but simple.  You will have to get around people who are headed in the same direction you are headed, and you might have to fight to keep up.  Again, this is not easy but simple.  Some people may help you and some might work against you, you may need to pick a mentor to coach you.  This is simple to say, harder to do.  You may need to accept coaching and you may need to coach others.  You will have to work as a team, but if this is too much to ask; just give up.

So today is the day I will say, just give up.  Tomorrow I will say chase your dreams.  Today I will say, just give up.  Tomorrow I will say get around people who agree with you and learn from them.  Today I will say, just give up.  Tomorrow I will say find a mentor and accept coaching and then mentor others.  I hope that you don’t listen to me today.  I hope you will listen to me tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day.  I hope you will listen to me when I say chase your dreams.  Today I hope you ignore me.  Today I say, just give up.

Just get up and do it.

OK, here is a challenge.  In the next 60 Seconds I hope I can motivate you to accept.  Just get up and do it.  Are you thinking about going for a walk?  Just get up and do it.

Just get up and do it.  Are you thinking about starting your own business?  Just get up and do it.  Now notice I did not say quit your job if you have a job.  I did say just get up and do it.  Plan your time and work your new business in your spare or extra hours.  Work your new business on the side until you can make it your full-time gig.

Are you thinking about going back to school?  Just get up and do it.  Take a look at your time and your finances and make it work.  Figure out a way to make it work, take one class at a time if that is the only way that works for you.  See if you qualify for a grant or a scholarship or a work-study program.  Find out what courses are being taught and read the books in your spare time.  This is the information age.  Almost everything you need is either on the internet or down at the bookstore or library.

Are you thinking about exercising more?  Just get up and do it.  Go for a walk, ride your bike, go to the gym.  Grab an MP3 player or a portable radio and just get moving.  Yes, you can invite someone along to go with you, but don’t wait for them.  Trust me, if they want to get something done, they won’t wait for you.

Just get up and do it.  You do not need a special brand of clothes or shoes; everything does not have to be perfect to get started.  Trust me, everything will never be perfect, so get started anyway.  Go out dancing or go fly a kite.  Go bake a cake, go jump in a lake.  Have some fun while you are alive, and maybe put a smile on your face.  My 60 Seconds are almost up.

Just get up and do it.

I just want to be me.

I am Joseph Luellen III.  I have done good things and I have done bad things.  I want to do more good things.  I have made my mistakes and I have learned lessons.  I want to learn more lessons.  I have been a leader and I have been a follower.  Now I just want to chase my dreams and help others chase their dreams along the way.  If I can help people I will, and if people choose to follow; that is cool also.  I just want to be the best Joseph Luellen III that I can be.

I have made mistakes, and I am sorry.  I have hurt people and I am sorry.  I am trying to learn how to get better.  I am trying to stand up for the truth.  It seems like people do not like it when you stand up for the truth.  Depending on who you talk to I am the biggest jerk on the planet.  Maybe at times I am, maybe at times I am just trying to get better.

I am not famous or related to anyone famous.  I do not think I look like Mike Tyson, or George Foreman, or O.J. Simpson or like anyone of the Jackson Brothers.  I am just Joseph Luellen III.  I want to be known for the things I accomplish, not the things someone else has done.  I do not want to be known for looking like someone else.  I want to be known for looking like myself.  I want to earn whatever reputation people associate with me.  I want to be known for my actions and my intentions, not my mistakes.

Wouldn’t you want to be known for you talents or the talents of someone else?  I want to find my purpose and use my talents to chase my dreams.  Am I a dreamer?  Yes, Joseph Luellen is a dreamer.  What gave me away?  Was it all the post telling people to chase their dreams?  What is my dream?  I want to be a Rock Star, Fitness, Motivation Guru.  I want to be a Super Star DJ, Team Building Multi-Million Dollar Charity Fundraiser.

I want to be me, and I want you to be you and I want us to be our best.  Is that too much to ask?  Will you chase your dreams or will you complain as life passes you by?  I figure what you do you have to lose by chasing your dreams?  You see, I have everything to lose by not chasing my dreams.  I do not believe I am going to hit the lottery, because I never play the lottery.  I want to be the best Joe Luellen I can be.  I want to be better than my past.  I still believe the future has not been written, so I want to rewrite my future.  You can too.  You can rewrite your future.

You see, I think that people change because they want to change.  I do not believe you can make people change.  I believe people change because they want to change.  That is why I want to change for the better.  Tony Robbins can not do it for me.  Zig Ziegler can not do it for me.  Oprah can not do it for me.  I have to do it for myself.  You have to do it for yourself.  You can do it.  I can do it!  You have to want to do it for yourself.  Not to be like someone else.  I want to be me.  I want to change for myself.

I want to be the best Joseph Luellen III that I can be.  I have to do my thing.  You have to do your thing.  60 Seconds of Motivational Mojo Out!
