Zero Capital Sweat Equity Event Planning or Z.C.S.E.E.P.

Zero Capital Sweat Equity Event Planning or Z.C.S.E.E.P. Welcome to 60 Seconds of Motivational Mojo where I try to make an Acronym out of just about anything.

Z.C.S.E.E.P: or Zero Capital Sweat Equity Event Planning is a technique I have been trying to Master and hope to teach others. I can break it down for you, but you have to give me a minute or two of your time. See I have worked as an Engineer for about 20 years and I have found out there are Acronyms for just about everything. And no one can agree so they make different acronyms for the same thing. So I figure why can’t I just make up a few along the way?

Zero Capital Sweat Equity Event Planning or Z.C.S.E.E.P.

So I have worked on launching processes and products and there is a concept of a Zero Capital Launch. This means the company will not invest any money into new capital. This means you have to salvage as much from the company’s existing stored inventory. Now for this case, it means if you are going to plan an event, you have to do the best you can to not spend any money. You can use free online tools to plan and promote your event. Let’s face it, people get their news from Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and all the other Social Media Tools as much as they do from Traditional Media outlets. You can use Free Email, Free Online Office Tools and even Free Conference Calling and Video Chatting. Who needs to spend money to get people involved?

Z.C.S.E.E.P: or Zero Capital Sweat Equity Event Planning:

So Zero Capital Event Panning or Z.C.E.P. should be easy to understand. But this is about Zero Capital Sweat Equity Event Planning or Z.C.S.E.E.P. so where does the Sweat Equity come into play? Lots of people who have been involved in Real Estate understand Sweat Equity.   When you buy a house and fix it up yourself before you sell it. The work you put in is called Sweat Equity. So what if you used social media to get a bunch of people together to clean up a park or start and after school program in your neighborhood. The work that people put in by volunteering would be Sweat Equity. Maybe you can find a sponsor to buy t-shirts and provide snacks. See people are not getting paid a salary; they are putting in Sweat Equity.

Z.C.S.E.E.P: or Zero Capital Sweat Equity Event Planning: The opposite of Pyramids and Ponzi Scams.  Too many times people fall for get rich quick schemes or believe they can make something out of nothing. Truth of the matter, most get rich schemes are based on you putting money in and then trying to hustle to get your money back out. Sign up to a system, buy a monthly minimum of product that you have to try to sell and get more people to sign up to your business. Does this sound familiar? So what if someone said, hey; let’s get a bunch of people together to volunteer at a food bank or a homeless shelter. Let’s partner with them and do volunteer drives and fund raisers and let’s use Social Media to spread the word. Zero Capital Sweat Equity Event Planning:

So maybe I have to work on this Acronym? Z.C. S.W.E.E.P. or Zee-See-Sweep: What do you think? What if you could join a group on LinkedIn of Facebook where you could encourage people and then find other people who think the same way? Then you could invite people to get involved in their community? That is the purpose of the Point Of Light Network. Why not join us? The Point of Light Network! Join us On LinkedIn: & Facebook. Z.C.S.E.E.P: or Zero Capital Sweat Equity Event Planning:

You can make something out of nothing. You can make a difference without throwing money at a problem. You can help others just by sharing your story. All you have to do is try!

Four years of blogging?

Four years of blogging?

Four years of spreading good news and trying to give quality advice, the kind of advice that I will follow. Four years of trying to build, from the ground up a motivational network of people who will encourage each other. Four years.

And what has it got me? A book deal: No, not yet. Any television n time: No, not yet. A movie deal with options on a sequel: No, not yet. So why do we do this again. Why do I do this again, blog in hopes of finding an audience?

I do this because I believe in seed time and harvest. My harvest may not have come in yet, but I plant seeds of good news and I water by trying and trying again, and encouraging others to try. I get peace of mind in knowing that I am trying to make things better by spreading good news instead of gossip. And I get to learn because I learn by doing, studying and mentoring others who are just getting started. I get to learn by talking to other people who are also blogging or speaking or networking and trying to help others. I learn because it is not enough for me to just blog, I want to make a difference by volunteering hands on so I go and help out when I can.   I want to make a difference so I invite others to join me when I can.

I could tell you that it is raining outside and my car won’t start; but I choose to tell you that no matter what you are going through to hold on, the sun will rise tomorrow.   I choose good news over bad. I choose the lesson over the pity party. I choose to want to make a difference instead of placing blame. I choose to keep blogging.

Four years of blogging and each year I reach more people. If only one person a day finds something I blog worthwhile, then maybe I can reach 365 people a year. If in 4 years 1000 people have found something worthwhile to hold onto from my quest to spread good news, then it is worth it.

No book deal, yet. No television interviews, yet. No movie options, yet. But in 2016 I hope to get out and speak more, I hope I can help produce some motivational and professional networking workshops. I also hope to help find 100 jobs for 100 people. I also hope I can volunteer once a month and invite others to join me. Four years of blogging and it has been worth it.

Thank you for tuning in. See you on the other side.

Dirty Hands and Clean Hearts:

Dirty Hands and Clean Hearts:

There was a time when the term “Getting Your Hands Dirty” meant to do the work that was needed to get done.  Think of a farmer who would be afraid to get their hands dirty.  Now “Getting Your Hands Dirty” is a negative thing.  Getting “Dirt on your hands,” now seems to mean getting “Blood on your hands.”  I think it is the heart’s intention that matters.  Can you get your “Hands Dirty” and keep your “Heart Clean?”

Welcome to 60 Seconds of Motivational Mojo.  I try my best to find the positive no matter what I am going through, no matter what the situation.  So I am trying to see life from the good side.  So many people want others to do the work.  So many people have been cynical for so long that getting your hands dirty means doing dirty work instead of doing garden work.  So I say do the work but keep your intentions honest, keep your heart clean.

A cold heart and dirty hands are not a good combination.  We see people who keep their “Hands Clean” as people who don’t get involved in “Dirty Work.”  Again, I ask to think of a Farm and think of a Garden.  I would like to believe that people who garden, people who farm; that people who tend to crops understand that hard work and good intentions can lead to dirty hands.  Some people associate keeping your hands clean to keeping out of the line of fire and having other people do your dirty work.  Again, it is a matter of your intentions.  Do you have a “Clean Heart” or a “Cold Heart?”  If you have a cold heart, dirty work means you do harm to others.  A warm heart, a clean heart that nurtures others; when you get your hands dirty, it means you are willing to make the sacrifices for others when times get hard.  Lots of people “Talk” about what needs to get done, but “Who” is doing the work?

Dirty Hands and Clean Hearts are the people who will clean up a park.  Dirty Hands and Clean Hearts are people who will haul trash out of an abandoned neighborhood.   It means you will help paint a house for someone who may not be able to do it for themselves.  Dirty Hands and Clean Hearts are the people who will clean up after a disaster and help people get back on their feet.  If your heart is clean, do not be afraid of getting your hands dirty; do the work.  Be the person who will volunteer on the front line of neighborhood clean ups, or food banks or soup kitchens or homeless shelters.  If it means you mop the floors, then mop the floors.  It is easier to wash dirt off your hands than off your heart.  Keep your heart clean, but don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty.

Dirty Hands and Clean Hearts:

G.I.V.E. – Get Involved, Volunteer to Empower.

G.I.V.E. – Get Involved, Volunteer to Empower.

Get Involved!  Welcome to 60 Seconds of Motivational Mojo.  I am asking you to act.  I am asking you to Get Involved!  I am asking you to do more than think about it, be worried about it or assume someone else will do what you think should be done.  I am asking you to take some time, give it some effort and get involved.

There are hundreds of ways that you can help out.  I am not trying to tell you what to believe, I am asking you to get involved in any cause you truly think you should support.  My only hope is that your intent is not to hurt or suppress others.  You will be amazed by what you will learn if you get involved.  If you get around like-minded people who support the same causes you can share knowledge and refine your skills.  You will be able to network with people and hopefully learn from them.  You will also appreciate your skills more.  There is a lot of growth and satisfaction that can come from helping others.

G.I.V.E. – Get Involved, Volunteer to Empower.

Volunteer, it is simple.  There are plenty of great causes that need your help.  More than they need your money, they need Volunteers to help do the work.  You see, while there are many noble causes, not all people are noble.  Not all people can be trusted, and not everyone has your talents.  You may be the difference between one more person getting the help they need, or not getting any help at all.  This is worth more than money.  This can very well be about showing someone you care for them and their well-being.  Listen, sometimes is it better to find out where your money is going before you give your money to a cause.  If people what your money but not your help, maybe just maybe you should not give them either.  Find out the Truth of where the money is going first hand, Get Involved, Volunteer!

G.I.V.E. – Get Involved, Volunteer to Empower.

Empower.  The best way to help someone is to show them how they can help themselves.  After you get involved, after you have volunteered and you know that a cause is a worthy cause; help others get involved and learn what you have learned.  Bring more volunteers with you.  Leading more people to serve others is a form of Servant Leadership.  You can help change your community and build a network just by helping others get involved.  Simple things like Tutoring Services or Voter Registration Drives or After School Programs for the Children of your Neighborhood can make a big difference.  If you have gotten involved and volunteered than you can help others get involved and become a Leader in your own right.  You can help empower others to help change their neighborhood.  I have heard it said that “All boats rise with the tide.”  If that is true we all are helped by helping others learn to help themselves.  How can argue with that line of thinking?

G.I.V.E. – Get Involved, Volunteer to Empower.

Refresh your connections.

Sometimes after a while, I notice my links from my WordPress Blog to Facebook or LinkedIn or Google are broken.  Sometimes I receive a notice to repair my connections.  Depending on what computer system, operating system and web browser combination I am using at the time, this can be an easy or difficult process. So without getting overly technically “cyberiffic” let me say that is a good practice to refresh our connections.  So today’s topic is refresh your connections.

“Cyberiffic” is a new term I have coined a hybrid of terrific performance in cyberspace.  Now we can move on.  Refresh your connections.  This is more than just linking one webpage to another webpage.  This is a challenge to actually try to connect with people.  Instead of a mass spam hello, why not a personal message for each of your links?  Instead of a text message, why not a telephone call?  Instead of an e-mail, why not a postcard?  Instead of a Web chat or video conference, why not a face-to-face sit-down over lunch or coffee?

Refresh your connections.  I am going to challenge myself to volunteer at different community service organizations once a month and invite as many people as possible to join me.  I am going to try to connect with people once a month for sit down conversations, workshops and public speaking events.  I am going to try to film them and share them with as many people as possible.  I want to make real connections with real people and share these connections with the world.

Refresh your connections.  You can do this also, you can invite people to do more than just show off, promote a party or be a voyeur into other people’s lives.  You too can use social media to create real world results.  That is kind of the point of 60 Seconds of Motivational Mojo and the Point of Light Network.  Creating real world results, all you have to do is refresh your connections.  Take an extra minute to make a personal connection instead of a mass spam induced grab for attention.

Repair your connections.  You may have to take a minute to get back in touch with someone and rehash something where you could not find agreement.  You may have to let time heal an old wound.  In the past I have held grudges and hurt people.  Am I sorry, yes I truly am; but we need to find a way to keep moving forward.  Sometimes you have to realize there are some things you can fix and some things you can’t and keep moving forward.  It is not about holding each other back, it is about not blocking someone from finding their own way if they do not want to go your way.  Am I good at repairing connections?  No, but I can try.  Am I good at refreshing connections, maybe and that is even easier.  They both start the same way, reaching out with a simple hello.  If you have wronged someone, say you are sorry and admit what you have done.  If you can work it out, work it out.  If you can not agree, then it is better to leave it alone than to keep stirring the pot.

Refresh your connections.  Try to make a real personal connection.  Take an extra minute and let people know how they are special in your life and tell them about their unique gift or talent.  If you are going to be friends, be friends who look out for and appreciate each other.  This is more than just who has the most links, it is about who can make quality connections.

Again, I am going to invite people to come along with my a couple of times a month to volunteer and to have some face to face conversations.  You can do it also, or you can do your own thing your own way.  Just find a way to refresh your connections!

Work together, Win together:

Work together, Win together:

It is just that simple.  I can tell you all the lines about teamwork, teamwork, teamwork; but what good will it do if you don’t believe them?  I can believe in teamwork and you can believe in teamwork; but if we don’t work together again, what good will it do?  I believe that getting people to work together is the key to success; but what good is it if we don’t actually work together?

Now I am not just saying this to say it.  I am saying it because I believe it.  I want you to think back on your life, and ask yourself; how much closer would you be to your goals if people helped you?  If people worked with you would you be better off?  Now ask yourself how many people you know who hate their jobs but work there for the money?  Do you think the people are working together or working against each other?  From top to bottom when people work together they are usually happier than when people work against each other.

Do I have scientific evidence?  Do I need to quote a bunch of surveys and studies?  I should not need too.  I am asking you to look back at your own experience.  When did you win and not have fun?  When did people work together and not get a lot done.  I think a lot of the things we suffer through in this life are people working against each other.  Am I wrong?  I ask myself, why do people spread lies about one another?  Why do people steal from each other?  Why do people kill each other?  This is the stuff that drags our society and communities down.  This downward spiral of wanting revenge against the people who have done you wrong results in more people working against each other.  It is so obvious and clear in the movies and on television.  So why do we fall into it in our day-to-day lives?

Listen, I have a very basic expectation for people who say they are my friends.  If you say you are going to do something, do it.  If you say you can help me than help me.  If I say I will help you, I will help you.  I believe it is this simple, work together win together.  I don’t run around saying teamwork, teamwork, teamwork.  I say things like Volunteer, Mentor, Coach and Train.  I say do the work and the team will build itself.

Many times I have seen the people who cry “Teamwork” the most are the ones who want to look good, or my say one thing and do another.  Work together and look out for each other and good things happen.  Look out for yourself and work against each other and bad things happen.  So I ask again, do you like the people you work around?  Do people work together or do they work against each other?

When people work together, what happens?  Usually morale is high and people help each other out.  They work a little harder and a little longer and they figure out how to work a little better.  People who work together seem to learn how to win more than then they lose.  People who work together seem to get it done.  Notice I am saying work as a team instead of teamwork.

So I believe it and the only thing left is to prove it.  Work as a team and you will win as a team.  Work against each other and you will fail.  Listen, be honest with yourself and you will see it clearly.  When people work together, they win together.

The First Class Upgrade:

All of us have dreamed about it.  Who hasn’t wondered about Limousines and Private Jets as their mode of transportation?  What would it be like to live like the Rich, the Famous and the Powerful for just one day even?  Today I was lucky enough to get the First Class Upgrade.

I know what it is like to not have a car, and to walk to work or ride a bicycle in the rain.  I know what it is like to work two jobs and drive a late-model car that is reliable but has no flash.  I know what is like to be broken down on the side of the road to and from job number one or job number two.  I know what it is like to ride the bus, and I know what it is like to fly back and forth on business trips.  No matter what way I travel I still see a world that needs hope.  No matter if by bus, plane or car I know there are people who are trying to better themselves and people who are down on their luck.  I know there are people who appreciate all that they have and people who don’t appreciate anything.  I know this exists on all levels; those who walk, those who bike, those who ride busses, those who drive and those who fly, even here in First Class.  I know that no matter where you are the world needs hope, and people should appreciate what they have and continue to strive to make things better.

Don’t just try to make things better for yourself by taking advantage of others.  No, I am talking about trying to make things better for everyone around you.  Spread Good News and the best advice possible.  Go the extra mile, volunteer, coach and mentor.  Be the best you can be no matter where you are at this moment in time.  Yes, the First Class Upgrade is nice, but my day-to-day life will not change because of it.  I will still go back to the same car, same family, same job and basically the same life.  That does not mean I will give up trying to better myself and help anyone who asks for my help.

Yes, it would be nice to be able to afford First Class all the time, it would be even better to be able to take my loved ones on trips with the First Class Upgrade.  So the upgrade, though earned by many miles of flying coach does not make me feel entitled, but does leave me inspired.  Can I help make the world a better place, so that I can pamper the ones I love with First Class Upgrades?  The key to it is treating people in a First Class way no matter where you are at the time.  Pay things forward.  Leave a penny instead of taking a penny.  Give your spare change to that charity.  Volunteer once a month or more.  Coach, mentor and train others in areas that you are strong.  Don’t be afraid to ask for help in areas you are weak.  Always try to find ways to make things better than you found them.  Be the First Class Upgrade in someone else’s life.

I am the kind of person who:

I am the kind of person who leaves a penny at the counter in the little dish.  You can be that kind of person also.  All you have to do is leave a penny.

I am the kind of person who puts my spare change in the charity jars.  Maybe a dollar here and a dollar there won’t make much of a difference, but it doesn’t hurt to try.  One day I hope to do more, but in the mean time I will do what I can.

I am the kind of person who likes to volunteer one day a month to help feed the homeless.  I also like to volunteer at food banks and soup kitchens.  My wife and I also like to organize and host charity fundraisers and try to get people to come together and work as a team.  Why not, even if we can only make things a little better we are still making things better than they were before we got there.  You can be that kind of person also.

I am the kind of person who likes to leave a good tip when ever we go out to eat.  Why not be the person that appreciates other people who are working hard for the money they make?  Why not be the person that people like to see coming?  Why not be that regular customer that people want to wait on?

I am the kind of person who believes in something bigger than myself.  I have faith, I believe in trying to be a part of something that will live on after I am gone.  You can be that person also; it just takes faith and hope that you can make a difference.  You can be that person also.

Leave a penny.  Donate your spare change.  Volunteer once a month.  Be a good tipper.  Have Faith.  Believe in something bigger than yourself.  Be that kind of person.  I am that kind of person.

The Alpha Optimist

I am the Alpha Optimist, let the games begin.

What makes me think that I can be the Alpha Optimist?  Somebody has to do it.  You have to want to do it.  You have to want to serve as Champion of the Optimists.  You have to want to be the Apex Optimist.  You see Optimism is a choice, it is a choice I was challenged to make; it is a challenge I have accepted.  It is a mountain I am scaling.  I am the Alpha Optimist, let the games begin.

Read this with a smile, otherwise you will not be able to see what I am saying.  Again I say read this with a smile; find a way to laugh along.  Otherwise you will miss it.  I can not state this enough for the record, you will not see it, if you do not smile while you read this, so read this with a smile.  I am the Alpha Optimist, the Leader of the Optimist Pack.  Maybe the Optimist Pack has not recognized my skills yet, but they will soon enough.  You see someone has to do it.  Someone has to carry the torch, and that someone is me.  You too can run with me in the Optimist Pack, You can be a Beacon of Hope.  You have to run the race to qualify.  Try to be the most positive person you can be.  Dream the biggest dreams.

What does it take to be an Optimist?  You have to believe you can make the world a better place.  You have to believe that good things do not happen by chance, but we help them along.  You have to run the race.  Start with paying it forward.  Be the person who leaves a penny at the corner store.  Be the person who gives their spare change in the fundraising cans at the gas station.  Be the person who tips better when you go out to eat.  Every little bit counts.  You see I cam giving you tips because I am the Alpha Optimist.  I am not the least bit worried about losing my title.  I am self-proclaimed.  But I can help you become more of an Optimist.

Remember to smile when you read this or you will miss the point.  I am the Apex Optimist.  So I am giving you another tip.  To make the world a better place, you have to get involved; Volunteer at a Local Church or Charity.  Lend a helping hand at an after school program.  You can make a difference.  See I am challenging you to make a difference, because I challenge myself to make a difference.  You can do it.  It is not hard, you just have to start.

I am the Big Dream Hunter, and I am leading a Safari.  You can come along.  Be the one who says “We can do it!” and mean it!  Be the one who will challenge Pessimists and Realists to a Verbal Duel.  Can you win the argument and leave everyone laughing and thinking twice?  Can you sharpen your saw against the most negative and complacent people around?  I can, that is what makes me the Champion of the Optimists.  I never back down from the chance to prove a pessimist wrong.  I never back down from the challenge of making a realist dream.  That is what it takes!  I am the Alpha Optimist, the Apex Predator of Realists and Pessimist.  Yes those camps shudder to think I may be tracking them.  Making them rethink their positions.

Don’t be afraid, it won’t hurt.  You will learn to love it.  Love the fact that you can dream big and make the world a better place.  Love the fact that you do not have to give into pity parties and doom and gloom.  The sun will rise in the East tomorrow just like it did today.  You can roll with my team, you can ride with us.  We are the Dreamers of the Big Dream; the Hunters of the Big Prize.  We will change the World.  The Trumpets will sound.  Did you remember to smile while reading this?  If you did not smile, you can not see it.  Put a smile one your face and start over.

I am the Alpha Optimist, let the games begin.

A Million Dollar Dream, a Billion Dollar Plan.

Can I take a moment of your time, and tell you that I want to be a part of making the world a better place.  I can I take a moment of your time to tell you that you can make the world a better place.  Can I take a moment of your time and tell you of my Million Dollar Dream and My Billion Dollar Plan?

I have a dream of raising Millions of Dollars for Charity.  I am a dream big kind of guy.  So why stop there?  A Million Dollars is not what it used to be.  So I am going to also tell you of my Billion Dollar Plan.  You see, deep down inside; I wish I was Santa Claus.  I wish I had the resources to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, give toys to deserving kids and also award scholarships and the hope of a college education to as many people as possible.  I have a dream and a plan, now either you believe or you don’t; but either way I hope to get there one day.

So my dream is that I can be a part of people coming together to promote for each other.  My dream is that I can be a part of people working together to volunteer in their community.  My dream is that I can be a part of raising money to help those who have been hit hard by hard times, and we can help get them back on their feet.

I am the guy who puts his spare change in the jars at the corner store to help out all the different causes.  I am the guy who has donated my time and talents to help raise money or make a difference.  I am the guy who challenges others to get involved also, not just throw money at a problem; see where the money is going.  Volunteer, tutor, coach or mentor; I have done these things and I challenge you to do the same.  I am not telling you what to do or where to go, I am just telling you to go and do.  You will make a difference.

So what is my Million Dollar Idea?  I believe we can be a part of getting people to come together and raise Millions of Dollars for Charity.  When you add up all the events I have been a part of, DJ’ing or Volunteering it has helped raise Millions for Charity.  Now my wife and I are helping Organize Fundraisers, and with the help of the people who have teamed with us we have raised Thousands of dollars so far.  More help and more events, and I am sure the number could approach a Million Dollars.  Again, I am a Big Dream kind of guy, why stop at a Million?

Why not a Billion Dollar Plan?  Yes, my plan is to one day be able to put together a Billion Dollar network.  A Billion Dollar Foundation to help clean up parks and provide safe places for kids to play.  A Billion Dollar Foundation that provides Tutoring Services to Kids in after school programs.  A Billion Dollar Foundation that awards Scholarships so people can continue their education after high school.  Yes, My Big Plan is a Billion Dollar Foundation that can be a Business Incubator and help solid ideas with Start-up Funding.  Yes, my plan is a Billion Dollar Plan to get people up and helping out with local charities.  A Billion Dollar Network, A Billion Dollar Foundation, A Billion Dollar Plan just means I can do more of the same things I have done on a smaller scale.  A Billion Dollar Plan means I can help make sure things are done the right way.

Or maybe it is all just a dream.  But if I can be a part of building a network of people who will work together, to promote each other, build teams to volunteer for local causes, provide motivation and leadership, and provide tutoring and scholarships for children, to help clean up neighborhoods and provide funding for local charities; what do I have to lose by trying?  Maybe we fall short; maybe we only raise Millions of dollars.  Maybe we only raise Thousands of dollars.  But what do I have to lose by trying.  What do I have to lose by Daring to Dream Big!  A Million Dollar Dream and a Billion Dollar Plan!
